Será at Sandy Ridge

Decking, Siding & Flooring | Wardensville, WV

At Será Sandy Ridge, a pair of modern villas was designed to feel both rooted in the enduring landscape around them, and distinctly of their own time.

To achieve this balance, the design team at DVN Development selected thermally modified Carbon Smart Wood across the siding, soffits, louvers, floors, and decks. Made from salvaged and fallen pine, oak, and douglas fir, the material carries a deeper story that matched the project’s ethos. Its warm tone and subtle irregularities are celebrated, mirroring the surrounding forest.

"What stands out most is that each piece feels alive, not just visually but conceptually. There is a palpable depth in knowing that what might have been discarded has instead been reborn into something enduring and beautiful.
Carbon Smart Wood has a kind of fourth dimension because it embodies time. When light moves across the facade, those layers of history and craftsmanship reveal themselves, giving the architecture movement and life. The wood does not simply cover the building; it animates it.”
